University of Salamamca is one of the oldest Universities in Europe (est.1218). Salamanca boasts a wide range of faculties and research institutions in sciences and humanities. It is a public university, located in Salamanca, in the region of Castilla y Leon, and is within the 15 first public universities of the country in the matter of research. It has 26 Faculties and Schools, and 18 research institutes and technological centers distributed among all the areas of knowledge. There deal studies of the first and second cycle almost 28.000 pupils, to whom they add near 3.000 pupils of Doctorate and Master. All this with an staff of 2.400 professors and researchers. The research groups at the University also participate regularly in European RDT Framework programmes and other international programmes.
